The EcoLodge
Purpose
The cuisine at Zacambú Eco Lodge is homemade, regional, and rooted in Amazonian family tradition. It is based mainly on organic food, local products, and purchases from farmers and people in the region as part of our sustainability practices.
The menu includes fresh fish such as pirarucú, gamitana, and dorado, along with vegetables, legumes, cassava, green plantain, and other ingredients typical of the Amazon. Some traditional preparations include fish in patarasca, tacacho, patacones, boiled cassava, and dishes that combine local flavors with more familiar options for visitors.
Breakfast usually offers variety so each guest can choose what they would like to eat: patacón, eggs, coffee with milk, arepas, tapioca made from cassava flour, and other options. Lunches and dinners aim for a balanced fusion between regional specialties and familiar foods, especially because many visitors stay at the lodge for several days.
Vegetarian and vegan options can also be offered on request. The goal is for every traveler to enjoy food that is flavorful, authentic, and suited to their needs during the rainforest experience.
During the tours, water, coffee, tea, and natural juices are included with meals. We recommend that each visitor bring a reusable bottle or container for water refills. The lodge provides safe, treated drinking water in containers and dispensers.
The bar offers additional drinks such as regional cocktails, beer, soft drinks, whisky, tequila, and other options.
