The EcoLodge
Purpose
Amazon Jungle Trips was born from the vision of Antonio Cruz Pérez, the company founder. Although the project began taking shape earlier, its documented history starts in 1989.
From the beginning, the idea was to show the Amazon in a different way: real, honest, and deeply connected to nature. For Antonio, traveling to the Amazon is not just another trip. It is a dream many people fulfill only once in their lives, and it deserves to be experienced with responsibility, care, and authenticity.
For Antonio, traveling to the Amazon is not just another trip. It is a dream many people fulfill only once in their lives, and it deserves to be experienced with responsibility, care, and authenticity.
During the early years, the experience was built through explorations across the Amazon triple border. During those journeys, Antonio found a special place on the Yavarí River, beside Lake Zacambú. There he began offering activities to travelers, initially hosting them in local residents homes.
At that time, tourism grew mainly through word of mouth. Visitors valued the way Antonio guided them and interpreted the rainforest, and as interest increased, the need arose to build a more comfortable place to stay.
That is how the idea of Zacambú Eco Lodge began: first as a rustic, simple structure, and later as a tourism project that grew over the years. The lodge has always kept a clear principle: offering enough comfort without losing the essence of exploration and immersion in nature.
Today, Amazon Jungle Trips continues working so every traveler takes home lasting memories, high-quality activities, local guides, and an authentic experience in the Amazon rainforest.
