The EcoLodge
Purpose
The Amazon can be visited year-round. There is no good or bad season—each time of year offers a different experience. During the high-water season, you can navigate deeper into the flooded rainforest; during the low-water season, hiking opportunities increase and beaches appear along the Yavarí River.
The high-water season usually runs from December to May or mid-June. The low-water season generally lasts from late June through November.
Yes, but it depends on the length of the tour. On a 3-day tour, hiking is usually not included during the high-water season because suitable trails are farther away and require more time to reach. On 4- or 5-day tours, there is a greater chance of including hikes.
If the traveler has limited time, the 3-day tour allows them to experience the essentials of the Amazon. If they are looking for a more immersive experience, the 4-day tour is more comprehensive. If they would like to include jungle camping and a deeper immersion in the rainforest, the 5-day tour is the best option.
On the 3-day and 4-day tours, all nights are spent in private rooms at Zacambú Eco Lodge. On the 5-day tour, guests spend three nights at the lodge and one night camping in the heart of the rainforest.
Groups may be shared with other travelers. The maximum group size is 8 people.
Zacambú Eco Lodge offers single, double, triple, and family rooms. The rooms are standard and assigned according to the group's accommodation needs.
Yes. However, since the lodge is located deep in the rainforest, signal coverage may vary depending on your location within the property and the performance of the service at that time.
The tour starts at 9:00 a.m. On the final day, it ends at approximately 5:00 p.m., regardless of whether you choose the 3-, 4-, or 5-day tour.
Yes. It is important that each visitor brings a reusable water bottle for refills. The lodge provides safe, treated drinking water through dispensers and water containers. Bottled water is also available for purchase, although the main goal is to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles.
For travel to the Colombian Amazon, the Yellow Fever vaccine is recommended and should be administered at least 10 days before your trip. It is available free of charge at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá. Please bring your vaccination card or certificate, as it may be requested when entering certain areas, boarding domestic flights to jungle destinations, or visiting protected natural sites.
The lodge has Wi-Fi, but the experience is primarily designed for relaxation and connecting with nature. If someone needs to work remotely or requires a constant internet connection, they should confirm this before booking.
Yes. If the reservation was made in advance, the Amazon Jungle Trips team will meet the traveler at the airport. If the visitor spends their first night in Leticia, they will be accompanied to their hotel and picked up the following day to begin the tour.
We recommend booking no later than midnight on the previous day so we can organize the next day's departure. All bookings are subject to availability.
